Watermark is the Newsletter of the Thames Landscape Strategy (TLS) and Mark Ormiston, a keen supporter of the river and the TLS, kindly sponsored the October 2001 issue of the newsletter.
 What is the Thames Landscape Strategy?
The Strategy is a unique 100 year blueprint for the river Thames between Hampton and Kew. Launched in 1994, it has won several national and international awards. Supported by a partnership of local authorities and national environmental agencies, over 180 projects and management proposals to enhance the riverside have been agreed. Already almost 70 projects are complete.
Sir David Attenborough is the Patron of the Strategy, which works closely with local community groups to implement projects. Funding has been secured from the lottery, charitable trusts and commercial sponsors. For more details e-mail: tls@richmond.gov.uk.
