Kew Gardens

This national institution has made a vast number of contributions to increasing the understanding of plants and fungi, benefiting the world’s pool of ecological knowledge and giving the UK public the chance to experience plant life from around the world.

We were commissioned by Kew Garden to help in the construction of a suspended footpath which would lead to a newly constructed treehouse. The footpath would slowly ascend to reach the cabin – which was itself held in the air by large wooden posts – so safety in the bridge’s construction was of the utmost importance.

To ensure that the barriers around the footpath were secure, we supplied Kew Gardens with 1000 meters of 5mm 7x7 316 stainless steel rope. We also supplied the end fittings which, when combined with our rope, helped in the creation of a sturdy and safe barrier.

The footpath was completed successfully, as was the cabin, which has played host to a variety of events in the grounds of Kew Gardens. In December 2016, the cabin was used as Santa’s Grotto, to the delight of the many children who visit the gardens.
